‘Shekinah’ – Jen Lui Ka Ki 煦
In Hebrew, ‘Shekinah’ is the splendor of light. I am using three different perspectives to illustrate the imagination through music and dance. By Doves, seeds and waves movement, we could experience the hope in seeds and the splendor in the midst.
Children are the pillars of the future society. In this performance, I have used soundscapes and videos that I took in Wavee village, where the children live, of the North Thailand Mountain over the past seven years. These Children have experienced various life stories during their early childhood.Through the recording materials, I would like to share some motions about them and I will collage them and display so in music and dance.
This performance aims at blessing the lands with the hope of welcoming the 'Shekinah', and more importantly, saving the children from the darkness. Therefore, they could also have an amazing life. It is my goal that this piece becomes a blessing, which will revive the wonder and beauty of the land.
